Inmate Mail
If you wish to send documents, photos, and mail to an inmate we recommend visiting NCIC and setting up an account for instant delivery. As of June 26, 2023 all inmate mail EXCEPT for legal and medical mail, must abide by the Lyon County Detention Facility mail requirements (see below), and be mailed to the following address in the below format:

Lyon County Detention Facility Requirements
All envelopes and mail must include the inmate’s name, Sheriff’s Office/booking/identifying number, and a return address. Only mail that is within 8.5in X 11in will be accepted.
Mail sent to inmates must contain No More than 5 Pages and No front to back pages. Inmates may receive one photo per mailing. No magazines. Newspapers, bulk mail or books will be accepted at the PO BOX referenced above.

Any regular mail that is sent will be returned to sender. It will not be forwarded.
