Search and Rescue

​It is the mission of the Lyon County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (LCSSAR) Division to assist the Sheriff of Lyon County in discharging his/her responsibility to provide for the safety of the people within the County. Specifically, in accordance with the orders and instructions of the Sheriff, conduct searches within and without the County for persons and evidence, protect and stabilize such situations to the extent possible and assist in appropriate recovery operations upon completion of that process, and will aid in other emergencies generated by natural or technological causes.
Lyon County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue will also conduct other public service and community relations functions when and as authorized by the Sheriff.
